There are camera makers that always seem to stand out from the rest. It’s often those who have been around for a long time and have the experience and resources to continue making advances in digital photography.

This is the camera that proved the marketing experts wrong when they preached that it’s all about pixel counts. That is not true at all, and most people still do not realize they do not need high pixel counts except for certain applications. So this camera traded off high pixel numbers for low light abilities and has proven to be a major competitor just the same. Other favorite features include high speed performance and lengthy battery life. Cannon has an excellent and stable reputation when it comes to the market for digital pocket size cameras. For the casual photography, the Canon name may be an old workhorse, but it remains a beloved first choice. It’s possible to find cameras that offer more features – for a larger price.
