Tucson and Elgin Wine Events-Get your Taste On

a-wine-tastingFor those who enjoy tasting wonderful wines, eating great food and listening to tunes, this is the weekend for you.  There are two events for your wine tasting pleasure.  The first is the Harvesting of the Vine Festival in Arizona Wine Country at the Village of Elgin Winery.  The Festival takes place on both September 26th and 27th from 11am-4pm.  For a cost of $18.00 you get lunch, from the Steakout in Sonoita, a Festival wine glass and tastings of great Southern Arizona wines.  Live music will also rock from 11am to 3:30pm.  At 1:30pm a grape stomping competition will be held, so be sure to rest your legs the night before!  More info is available at www.elginwines.com.

The second event is the First Annual Corks and Chords at the Arizona History Museum at the University of Arizona.  This event is a bit more upper crust with chef prepared dishes paired with incredible wines and acoustic music.  The cost is $50.00 and proceeds will benefit the Arizona Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  The event runs from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday the 26th.  Take the opportunity to have great foods, great wines and enjoy some of the displays from a wonderful museum while supporting a very worthy charity.  More info is available at >http://azamain.nationalmssociety.org/site/PageServer?pagename=AZA_programs_Corks_and_Chords.

Bob Dylan, Stone Temple Pilots, David Cook, Kelly Clarkson and more at AZ State Fair! Reserved Seats go on sale 9/12 at 10am MST!

dylan_pic_20     Stone Temple Pilots     David Cook     Kelly Clarkson

The Arizona State Fair Concert Series starts October 17th and runs through November 7th.  General Admission to all the concerts is free on a first come first served basis, however you will have to wait in line and will not be assured of a seat.  You can purchase reserved seating for each of the concerts through Ticketmaster at a very reasonable $15.00 to $20.00 per ticket (plus Ticketmaster fees of course!).    If you have a reserved seat, you must still purchase a fair ticket as well to get to Veteran’s Memorial Stadium.  For the prices, I would highly recommend purchasing a reserved seat.  The lineup for the concerts follows below.

Bob Dylan 10/17
Stone Temple Pilots 10/18
Lady Antebellum 10/21
The Black Crowes 10/22
John Michael Montgomery 10/24
Rodney Atkins 11/1
David Cook 11/3
Little Big Town and Billy Currington 11/6
Kelly Clarkson 11/7

If you decide to risk General Admission, doors open approximately 1 hour prior to show time.  This is subject to change so we recommend you get to the Fair early for the best chance at general admission seating.  Please remember to use the Ticketmaster Ad on this site to support the Tucson Event Calendar.  Thanks!
